What’s Happening In The Market Now... Stocks were sharply lower at the open this morning. Tempered buying and unprecedented deep discounts likely resulted in soft sales for the Thanksgiving shopping weekend. Some stock selling was to be expected today considering the magnitude of last week's advance. ISM's manufacturing index was 36.2 in November, the weakest since 1982, down from 38.9 in September. Construction spending fell 1.2% in October. Sectors starting the day out strong include industrial REITs, alternative energy and renewable energy equipment while coal & consumable fuels, oil & gas equipment, aluminum and diversified metals & mining are down. Volume leaders include Ford Motor Company (F), Yahoo Inc (YHOO), General Motors Corp (GM), Pfizer Inc (PFE) and Merrill Lynch and Company Inc (MER).
