What’s Happening In The Market Now... Stocks were higher as the market opened this morning following two days of big losses. The Labor Department said nonfarm payrolls tumbled a larger than expected 240,000 in October. This marked the 10th-straight decline pushing total job losses for the year to 1.2 million. The unemployment rate soared 0.4 percentage point to 6.5%, the highest mark since March 1994. Sectors starting the day out strong include real estate services, heavy construction and mortgage finance while mobile telecommunications, home construction and hotel & casinos are down. Volume leaders include Qualcomm Inc (QCOM), General Motors Corp (GM), General Electric Capital Corp (GE), Pfizer Inc (PFE) and Citigroup Inc (C).
